Welcome to my website; I'm glad you stopped by. You'll find it still under construction so please check back often to see what's been added.

The picture shown is titled At Play - the first in an upcoming series. I originally got the inspiration for the paintings at one of the outdoor festivals I was doing a couple of years ago. It was so hot out and watching the children playing in the fountains really made me want to take of my shoes roll up my pants and jump in with them - BOY, that would have been a sight!

Another painting of the "Fountain" series is featured on the Anatomy-of-a-Painting page on this website; stop by and see the different stages of the painting as it's completed. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope to see you back real soon. Please take a moment to sign my guestbook - I'd love to hear from you.

Doug is an award-winning artist originally from Kansas City  recently transplanted to the Florida panhandle near Destin. He has painted, designed, built, and created - in one form or another - all of his life. Having a strong background in technical theatre and scenic design, the majority of his work has been creating illusion on a larger scale. A decision was made in the late spring of 2002 to tighten his creative vision and dedicate his attention solely to watercolors.

Doug's paintings hang in homes and businesses from California to Florida, Australia, and Germany including select gallerys in the Kansas City area. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute as well as having attended and conducted various classes and workshops. Doug's work has been juried into several national and regional competitions including regional art fairs and festivals.
